How to create your first ReadyForm video

One video in ReadyForm is one project: you upload the takes you recorded for a single short, ReadyForm makes the complete edit, and you download the result. This article walks through that first run from an empty dashboard to a downloaded file.

You do not need to combine or trim your recordings first. Upload every attempt, including the ones you fumbled; picking the right take is part of the edit.

  1. 1

    Start a new video

On the Home dashboard, use the New video button, drop files or a whole folder onto the page, or pick Choose files / Choose folder. The dark plus button in the sidebar does the same from anywhere.

  2. 2

    Name it and add context

Give the video a name and, if you have one, paste your script or a one-line topic under Script or topic. The hint in the app is accurate: with a script, accuracy is near 100%, and a single line already helps a lot.

  3. 3

    Pick the setup options

Aspect ratio defaults to Auto (match source), Target duration to Auto. Choose a Caption style if you want to lock one now, and pick a Brand if you have created one in the Library; otherwise the default brand is used.

  4. 4

    Select Get it ready

The upload starts and the render follows automatically. You can watch the status on the video card: uploading, processing, then rendering.

  5. 5

    Wait for Rendered

The card moves through Processing and Rendering to Rendered. Processing time varies with the number and length of your clips. You can keep using the dashboard meanwhile.

  6. 6

    Open the video

On the video page you'll see Your video with the finished result. When it's done, the app says it plainly: "Your video is ready." Play it start to finish once.

  7. 7

Review and edit if you want to

Select Review & edit to open the editor. The story view shows every spoken word; scenes show which take was selected and what the AI cut. Editing is a possibility, not a required step.

  8. 8

    Download

Use Download video on the video page, or Export inside the editor if you changed things. Watch the downloaded file once before you publish it.

If something looks off

  • The render fails with "No speech found in the footage." ReadyForm needs talking footage. Screen recordings or B-roll without speech can support a video, but the core upload must contain spoken takes.
  • The upload never finishes. The video page will say the upload never finished and suggest deleting the video and uploading again. Check your connection and file sizes first; the uploader shows the current limits.
  • The result uses a take you don't like. Open Review & edit, select the scene, and check Selected take and Alternatives. Switching to another take is one click; captions catch up automatically.
