How to edit the story
The story is the transcript-first way to edit: you work on words, and ReadyForm turns your word edits into video edits. Removing a sentence removes it from the cut; restoring a struck word brings the footage back; correcting a word corrects the caption.

Click a word to select and play
A click selects a word and plays from there. Shift-click selects a range; drag reorders. The in-app hint spells it out: click = select/play, shift-click = range, drag = reorder, struck = click to restore.

Remove what you don't want
Select one or more words and choose Remove. The cut lands on word boundaries, so sentences stay intact around it.

Restore what the AI cut
Struck-through words were cut, most marked as removed by AI. Click a struck word or selection and choose Restore. A scene with everything hidden shows a "Show n removed words" control.

Correct a word
Double-click a word (or right-click for the menu and choose Edit text) and type the correction. The caption updates with it.

Add a word where needed
Use Add word to insert a spoken-word caption, or Text for a text group that isn't tied to speech.

Let the timing catch up
After edits, word timing is briefly estimated; the app says so and fixes it on the next preview. Re-sync with audio does it immediately.
If something looks off
- I removed too much. Undo works across story edits. Per scene, Remove cuts restores every cut while keeping your start and end, and Restore AI version puts the scene back the way the AI made it.
- The captions lag slightly next to the audio. That's the estimated timing after an edit. The preview and export fix it automatically; Sync now forces it right away.
