How to review what the AI cut
Silence, retakes and fumbles get cut automatically. The cuts are never hidden: the editor counts them per scene ("3 AI cuts") and can show every removed word, struck through, exactly where it was.
- 1
Show the cuts
Toggle the AI cuts control (it reads "Show what the AI cut" and flips to Hide AI cuts). Removed words appear struck through in the story.
- 2
Read what fell out
Most cut content is a pause, a false start or a weaker retake. Watch for the exceptions: a qualifier like "usually", a condition, a number correction.
- 3
Restore what matters
Click a struck word or select a range and choose Restore. The footage returns to the cut and the captions follow.
- 4
Or reset the scene
Remove cuts lifts every cut in the scene while keeping your start and end. Restore AI version puts cuts and trims back the way the AI made them.
- 5
Replay the scene
After restoring, play the scene and its neighbours; a restored pause changes the rhythm around it.
If something looks off
- A sentence sounds abrupt after a cut. Open the scene's internal cuts and remove the specific cut (Remove cut), or use Fine-tune to nudge the boundary.
- I want a tighter or looser edit overall. That's a brand edit rule (Silence: Dramatic keeps pauses, Tight cuts hard). Set it in your brand and regenerate, rather than restoring cut by cut.
