Help · Export & download

What to do when an export fails

An export failure is loud, not silent: a toast says "Export failed. Please try again.", or the video page shows a specific render error. The message decides your next move, so read it before retrying.

  1. 1

    Retry once

Transient failures are the common case. Export again, or use Try again on the video page.

  2. 2

    Read the specific error

The render errors name their layer. "The audio in this clip can't be read" and "A source file could not be found" point at a file; "The AI service was briefly unreachable" and "Storage was unreachable" point at services; "Something went wrong on our side. We've been notified" means exactly that.

  3. 3

    Fix what it names

File errors: re-export the clip from your camera or phone and upload it again. Service errors: wait a few minutes, then retry. Internal errors: they're already reported; a second attempt after a pause often lands.

  4. 4

    Two identical failures: stop

Don't hammer the button. Contact support with the video name, the exact error text and the time; that combination makes it findable in the logs.

If something looks off

  • "Two changes were happening at once." You edited from two tabs or devices. Close one, Load latest in the other, retry the export.
  • The export succeeds but the file won't play. Test in another player first (the file is a standard MP4). A file that plays nowhere means the transfer broke: download it again.
