What to do when a render fails
A failed video always carries a specific message, and the message names the layer that broke. That's your map: some errors point at the footage, some at the services behind the pipeline, and each has its own fix.
Errors about your footage
"No speech found in the footage. ReadyForm needs talking footage.": the takes contain no usable speech. Record takes where you talk.
"No usable files to work with.": every file was rejected or empty. Check the upload list.
"A source file could not be found. Upload the clip again.": a clip went missing between upload and render; re-upload that clip.
"The audio in this clip can't be read. Export it again and retry.": the clip's audio track is broken or exotic. Re-export from the camera or editor and try again.
Errors about the services
"Transcribing the speech failed. Please try again." and "The AI service was briefly unreachable. Try again in a few minutes.": transient; wait briefly and retry.
"Storage was unreachable. Please try again." and "The render itself failed. Please try again.": same treatment, retry once.
"Something went wrong on our side. We've been notified and are on it." and the internal assembly error: already reported automatically; retry after a pause.
Errors about timing and conflicts
"The render took too long and was stopped. Please try again.": usually load; retry. "Two changes were happening at once. Please try again.": close duplicate tabs, reload, retry.
If something looks off
- The same error twice in a row. Stop retrying. Contact support with the video name, the exact message and the time; that's enough to find it in the logs.
- Failed, but I need the footage elsewhere. Your clips remain on the video page under Your clips with their own Download buttons, independent of the render.
