Why processing takes time
Processing is where the actual editing happens: transcription, take comparison, cutting, captioning, pacing, B-roll and sound. The work scales with your footage: more takes, longer takes and bigger files all mean more to analyse.
Three 20-second takes process in a very different timeframe than nine multi-minute recordings. Neither is wrong; they're different amounts of work.
What's happening in order
Upload completes per file. Then the pipeline transcribes every take, compares them, builds the edit (Ready to edit appears once the edit exists), and renders the video file (Rendering, then Rendered).
What you can do meanwhile
Leave. Processing and rendering run server-side; the status is on the card when you come back. Refreshing doesn't speed anything up, and submitting the same footage again just makes a duplicate.
When to worry
The pipeline stops a run that takes too long and says so: "The render took too long and was stopped. Please try again." A video that fails tells you; a video that's working shows Processing or Rendering. Hours of silence with no status change is retry territory: once, then support.
If something looks off
- A previous video was faster. Different footage, different duration. Compare take count and length before comparing clocks.
- It's stuck on Uploaded. Give it a few minutes; the queue picks it up. Still frozen after that: open the video page and use Try again, or contact support with the video name.
